CHRISTIAN SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES - SPECIFIC
- IC Christmas Drive - Immaculate Conception High School Christmas Drive will begin on Monday, November 28 through Friday, December 9. We will collect new unwrapped toys for Toy Express and laundry soap for the IC Parish Giving Tree. Please see Mrs. Brown for more information.
- Immaculate Conception Christmas Brunch and Boutique - Looking for volunteers to help out with the IC Christmas Brunch and Boutique on Sunday December 4 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in MPH. Please see Mrs. Brown for more information.
GENERAL
- Volunteer at school to assist at Mass, at open houses, at sporting events or various other activities – check with the teacher in charge to see if the activity qualifies for Christian Service hours.
- Check your Church Bulletin or call your parish. Throughout the year Churches need help with: Religious Education, Food Pantry, Thanksgiving Baskets, Giving Tree, cleaning and decorating the Church and many more.
- Check your local park district or town hall for example, Elmhurst Park District is in need of volunteers for their September Fishing Derby, the October Fall Fest and other seasonal events – something different each month.
- To help you match your skills and interests to one of the many non-profit organizations in DuPage County, please use the interactive volunteer match feature at: www.givingdupage.org
- Most organizations have websites with information and phone numbers
- Listen during homeroom announcements, sometimes service opportunities are announced.
Check the board outside room 305 and by the garbage can in the cafeteria for ideas or talk to your Christian Service Leaders or Mrs. Brown.
