ECOLOGY CLUB

Moderator:  Mr. Michael Conroy

The Ecology Club at Immaculate Conception High School is open to all students.  Current 2011 membership consists of 18 students from all grades. 

Our principle responsibility is to manage the recycling at the high school and promote environmental awareness. Proposed projects for 2011-12 include setting recycling goals and charting progress, sponsoring a Christmas tree in Wilder Park with recycled decorations, and making classroom awareness signs.  If there is student interest we can prepare for participation in “Enviro-thon,” a high school academic competition concerning environmental issues.

NEWS

We will be welcoming Mr. Dave Andrusyk to our PLC meeting on Tuesday 2/7/2012.

Mr. Andrusyk is a Naturalist with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.  He will be talking with us about the need, and opportunity for volunteers to assist with ongoing projects within our forest preserves.

Please see Mr. Conroy by Friday February 3rd to reserve a seat for our PLC meeting next Tuesday.
