Here are websites relating to foreign languages, especially Spanish, Italian, and French.  They have been collected from book review journals, print resources, librarian/teacher recommendations, and other resources.

  • Foreign Language and Culture    Contains a listing of web sites about languages and cultures from around the world organized by foreign language.
  • iLoveLanguages   From the website homepage:  " iLoveLanguages is a comprehensive catalog of language-related Internet resources. The more than 2400 links at iLoveLanguages have been hand-reviewed to bring you the best language links the Web has to offer."

SPANISH

  • All About Spain   This site provides information on the regions and cities of Spain, a photo tour, and general information on Spain's climate, history, culture, and more.
  • Diccionarios.com  This is a Spanish dictionary, Spanish thesaurus, and Spanish-English dictionary.  You can also translate from Spanish to other languages as well.
  • El Mundo  An online edition to a popular Spanish magazine.
  • Learn Spanish   A collection of free tutorials to help you learn Spanish including pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, verb drills, and more.
  • Recetas de Espana   Provides recipes form some basic Spanish foods; also includes links to Spanish music and history.
  • Spanish Pronto  Here you can learn new vocabulary words, practice reading in Spanish, review basic grammar and verb tenses, and more.

FRENCH

  • Français Interactif   A collection of videos for first year French students about food, people, traditions, professions and more are presented.
  • France Home Page   This site is more for planning a trip to France, but there's also articles on French history, culture, museums, and more.
  • French Culture  This site is from Le Ministere de la Culture et de la Communication.  It provides information on French culture in both French and English.
  • Le Monde  Le Monde is the leading daily French newspaper published in Paris.
  • Eiffel Tower   This is the official website of the Eiffel Tower where you can read about its history and see views of Paris.
  • Napoleonic Period Collection   From the University of Washington, here you can explore the world of Napoleon with 83 satirical drawings from the era and a timeline of the period.
  • The Paris Pages   Here you can learn a lot about Paris: its monuments, its museums. You can also view Metro maps, historical maps, and even street scenes!
  • Tennessee Bob's Famous French Links   Tennessee Bob is a French professor at the University of Tennessee at Martin.  He has an extensive listing of French online resources including literature, culture, history, language, media, education, and more.

ITALIAN

  • Italian Language  This is a valuable source to help you learn about speaking the Italian language.  There is also information about the history of the language.
  • Italica    From RAI International, here you can learn how to speak Italian as well as learn about the Italian culture.
  • Oggi E Domani     Contains twenty interactive lessons focusing on basic everyday vocabulary.
  • Super Italian Websites    A collection of Italian sites including language, culture, geography, newspapers, and more from the University of Northern Iowa.
