GENERAL INFORMATION

What is Manna? It’s the wonderful program that has local and national retailers paying your tuition for you. How does it work? Manna is free and easy to participate in.  There are no registration fees or dues.  It is not a fund-raiser for the school or the Parents’ Club.

This program is a means of reducing the tuition costs for those families that choose to participate.  To participate, simply purchase gift certificates to the businesses you frequently use.  Use them for yourself, or give them as gifts for family and friends.  There is no limit to the amount you may purchase.  The more you purchase the more you save!

What types of stores participate? Grocery, gas, restaurants, clothing stores, shoe stores, pizza places, book stores, department stores, you name it. Just about every kind of purchase you are already making, you can make through Manna, and save money off your tuition! This is money you are already spending. You can save money for yourself without buying anything you aren’t buying now. It’s a no-brainer.

What’s the catch? There is none. If you want $100 for Jewel, write a check for $100, and receive $100 in Jewel gift certificates, plus you get the discount as credit toward your tuition.

Each retailer offers a different discount.  In some instances, retailers offer small discounts of 2 or 3%; however, sometimes the discount offered is much higher—10, 15, 20% or more, and the families will receive the discount as tuition credit! Over the course of the year, this can easily add up to hundreds of dollars.

How can I get in on this wonderful program? The best way is through the weekly orders. Register and then return the Manna envelope and payment to school by Friday, and you will receive your order the next week.  This is a simple, smart and easy way to offset the cost of a fantastic education without spending any additional money.

POLICIES

Following are the policies for the Manna Program, some new and some old, as well as some miscellaneous information. Please keep this sheet as a reference for the future.

1.  The Manna Program will run weekly, unless otherwise announced.

2.  A registration form must be completed each school year and be on file before placing

any orders – you may include it with your first order.  Your family number for Manna will

be the same as your account number on your tuition statement (last 4 digits of SMART

account number).  Please be sure your family number is on all order envelopes.  Friends

and family can help with your tuition by ordering with your family number, or by obtaining

a number of their own, with the credits donated to your family member.

3.  Participating stores/vendors and their discount percentages are subject to change

     without prior notice.

4.  The tuition credits earned will be held by the ICHS Manna Program, and credited to your

tuition account in August , November, February and May.  There will be a sticker on your

envelope showing the credit earned for the current order (as well as the accumulated

credit since the last payout).  A Manna statement summarizing a family’s purchases and

credit earned will be sent out when the quarterly payout is made.  Any discrepancies

must be brought to the attention of the Manna Coordinator within seven (7) days of the

Manna statement date.  Credits earned through April will be applied to the present

year’s tuition.  Credits in excess of your tuition balance and credits received after April

will be applied to next year’s tuition.

5.  The Manna Program is being offered to promote the education of students at ICHS.

Therefore, the money collected under a family account will be paid only to ICHS families.

If a student no longer attends ICHS, for whatever reason, the money held under the

family’s account can be credited to any outstanding tuition balance, credited to another

ICHS family’s tuition, or credited to the General Assistance Fund.  At no time will money

be directly refunded to participating families.

6.  All Manna orders are due Friday morning.  No late orders will be accepted, but will be

held for the following week’s order.  No phone orders will be accepted.

7.  Filled orders will be handed out by Wednesday of the following week during homeroom.

Students will be called down to the main office to pick up the orders, and will be

required to initial a pickup list.  If there is a change in schedule, notices will be sent

home or posted on the website.  Orders not picked up by Friday will be held until

the following week unless you call the coordinator and arrange a pickup.  Manna

participants are urged to count certificates and cards when received.  Any

discrepancy must be reported to the Manna Coordinator within 24 hours of the

     pickup.

8.  Cash will not be accepted.  Please pay by check or money order.  Make checks and

money orders payable to ICHS Manna.  Any checks returned by the bank will be

required to be replaced with a money order payable to ICHS Manna.  Returned check

fees assessed by the bank must be reimbursed to the ICHS Manna Program.

9.  Certificates and gift cards are just like cash.  ICHS, IC Parish, and ICHS Manna Program

cannot accept responsibility for lost, misplaced, or stolen certificates.

10. Think outside your own wallet! Encourage your family and friends to purchase

Manna—it’s money they would spend anyway, and you can get the credit.

11. Manna information can be found under the parents section of the website at

      www.ichsknights.org.

12. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please give the volunteer Manna

Coordinator a call!  Noreen Cheng can be reached at 630-833-2629.
