  • BBC: Religions   The BBC describes the beliefs, history, holidays, ethics, people, symbols, texts, customs, and much more of a variety of religions.
  • Encyclopedia of Religion and Society   The Hartford Institute for Religious Research presents an online edition of its 1998 encyclopedia.  It is an excellent source about the religious aspects of the social sciences especially psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
  • Patheos   An excellent resource on different faiths and issues relating to religion.  You can compare different traditions; get articles on social issues, interfaith issues, and more.
  • Religious Tolerance    This unbiased site explores different religions and all viewpoints of various religious and controversial issues.
  • Sacred: Discover What We Share   From the British Library, this site explores the similarities between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam with videos, audio clips, and links to 78 sacred texts.
  • World Prayers   A collection of prayers from a different faiths and nations.

GENERAL/BIBLE

  • Biblical Art on the WWW   Provides links of Biblical works of art that can be found on the Internet and organized by subject, Text, and artist.

 


CATHOLICISM

  • American Catholic  From the Franciscans and the publishers of St. Anthony's Messenger, this is an excellent resource on the Catholic faith.
  • Catholic Online   Here you can get the latest Catholic news and learn about saints, angels, prayers, and more.
  • Catholic Social Thought   Developed by Professor Joseph M. Incandela from St. Mary's College as well as an ICHS alum, this site contains many links about the Catholic faith including resources on ethical issues such as birth control, abortion, and capital punishment.
  • New Advent   An excellent guide to the Catholic faith, (it hosts the Catholic Encyclopedia).
  • The Rosary   Learn about the Rosary.  Includes a link to a couple of good articles about the Rosary.



PROTESTANTISM

  • Global Anabaptist Mennonite Encyclopedia  "GAMEO provides reliable information on Anabaptist-related (Amish, Mennonite, Hutterite, Brethern in Christ) topics, including history, theology, biography, institutions and local congregations."  From the website.

  • Patron Saint Index   Here on this well-researched site, you can find information about the saints.
  • Saints & Angels   From Catholic Online: "the largest collection of facts and information about saints and angels on teh Internet."

  • Jewish Encyclopedia   This is the complete 12 volume Jewish Encyclopedia which was published between 1901-1906.
  • Jewish Virtual Library   There's a lot here about Judaism including its holidays and festivals, relations with other faiths, history, and more.
