- BBC History You can find a lot of information about ancient history, British history, and more.
- History Central This is a great resource for learning history. It has timelines on world history and American wars; primary source documents; aviation, naval, and railroad history; and more.
- History Guide From Gottingen State and University Library in Germany, this site is a subject index of history resources of over 3000 scholarly web sites and digital texts.
- Internet History Sourcebooks Project From the website: " The Internet History Sourcebooks Project is a collection of public domain and copy-permitted historical texts presented cleanly (without advertising or excessive layout) for educational use."

- BBC: Ancient History Explore the Egyptians, Greeks, British Prehistory, Romans, Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, India, and more with articles, pictures, games, and more.
- Exploring Ancient World Cultures From the University of Evansville, here you can learn about ancient civilizations from the Near East, India, Egypt, China, Greece, Rome, as well as the Early Islamic World and Medieval Europe.
- Sacred Sites Features photos of 1000 sacred sites in 80 countries by anthropologist and National Geographic photographer Martin Gray.
MESOPOTAMIA
- Ancient Mesopotamia From the Oriental Institute Museum of the University of Chicago, this site explores what life was like in Mesopotamia. Includes interactive games where you can go on an archaeological dig.
- Mesopotamia There's a lot of information regarding Mesopotamia including the Sumerians, Akkadians, Amorites, Hittites, Kassites, Assyrians, Chaldeans, and the Persians.
EGYPT
- Ancient Egypt From the British Museum, this excellent site contains information about Egyptian life, geography, religion, pharaohs, pyramids, trade, writing, and more.
- Eternal Egypt Explore the history, art, culture, mythology of Ancient Egypt.
- Nova - Pyramids Explore the inside of the Great Pyramid and go on an excavation.
- Theban Mapping Project At this site you can explore the Valley of the Kings, Theban Necropolis, and the KV5 tomb.
GREECE
- The Ancient City of Athens Provides images and information on the ancient city of Athens. Includes essays and links to other resources.
- Ancient Greece This site contains a lot of interesting information about Ancient Greece including mythology, Olympics, people, history, and the arts.
- The Ancient Greek World Presents the land, history, daily life, and culture of the Ancient Greek civilization from the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

- The Crusades Presents a detailed history of the Crusades from Boise State University.

- The Middle Ages: Feudal Life Find out what it was like under the feudal system. Includes information on religion, homes, clothing, health, arts and entertainment, town life, and more.
- Mostly Medieval The Exploring the Middle Ages section is full of information about life during the time period.
- Renaissance Anneberg Media has this great site about the Renaissance period. It includes history, science, art, literature, and a special look at Florence.
- Vikings There's a lot of information here about the Vikings including their warfare and their lifestyle. You can even go on a Viking Quest by building your Viking ship and going on a raid!

- First World War.com This site offers a lot of information about World War I including, biographies, causes of the war, battles, literature, and more.
- League of Nations Home Page Contains a photographic archive of the League of Nations with photos of people, assemblies, councils, and more; also includes a brief history and timeline.
- World War I Explore the countries that participated in World War I, the major battles that took place, and the military units and weapons that were used, and other related links.

- Berlin Wall Online Explore the history of the Berlin Wall with historic and present day photographs, a timeline, related links, and more.
- Cold War From Spartaculs Educational, this online encyclopedia contains biographies of political and military leaders and articles on issues, events, and organizations from the Cold War era.
- Cold War Museum Tour some virtual exhibit on the Berlin Wall, weaponry, and reconnaissance aircraft used or developed during the Cold War.
- Korean War This site describes the Korean War and includes a timeline, information about each nation that participated in the conflict, and resources for more information.
- NATO The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was formed in 1949. On the official website, you can find out about NATO's history, view photos and videos, and more.
- The Vietnam War This site tells the story of the Vietnam War by using images.

- British Monarchy The official website of the British monarchy contains biographies of the Royal family, history of the monarchy, information on the Royal residences, and much more.
- Tudor History.org The Tudors ruled England from 1485 to 1603. Learn about them and English history during their rule.
- Victorian Web: An Overview This site is about English history during the reign of Queen Victoria including political history, social history, philosophy, religion, science, technology, literature, the arts, and more.
