ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

Immaculate Conception High School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admissions policies, educational policies, athletic programs, scholarships and loan programs, or other school administered programs.

The Admissions Committee reviews each applicant on an individual basis. Applicants for admission must successfully complete eighth grade or its equivalent to be considered. Acceptance is based on a combination of the following factors: 

  • Performance on the high school entrance exam;
  • Academic ability as demonstrated by the review of 7th and 8th grade report cards;
  • Performance on 7th and/or 8th grade standardized tests;
  • Teacher recommendations;
  • Sibling of a current or graduated ICHS student;
  • Child of an ICHS graduate.

Notification of acceptance will be sent out in mid-February.

ADMISSIONS TIMELINE FOR THE CLASS OF 2016

Thursday, January 12, 2012 - Entrance Exam Workshop

6:45 - 8:15 pm

ICHS Cafeteria

Eighth grade students who will take the entrance exam at ICHS are encouraged to attend this workshop to learn test taking techniques and strategies.  The session lasts approximately one hour.   Workshop begins at 7:00 pm; registration begins at 6:45 pm.  Be sure to bring your completed New Student Enrollment Application and $30 fee (cash preferred).  The workshop fee includes the cost of the Entrance Exam. 

Parents are invited to attend an informational financial aid session that runs concurrently with the workshop.

Registration/Check-In begins at 7:30 am. If you are not pre-registered, bring your completed New Student Enrollment Application and $30 fee (cash preferred). Each student will receive a folder containing pertinent ICHS admissions information. Please review the folder carefully as there will be time sensitive information included.  

Please arrive no later than 7:45 a.m.  Please bring two #2 pencils.  Calculators and dictionaries are prohibited.

Wednesday, February 15, 2012 

ICHS Financial Assistance Application (one-page with ICHS logo) is due along with a copy of your 2010 tax return and 2011 W-2 forms.  Place all information in a sealed envelope, address to the attention of the ICHS Financial Assistance Committee and return it to the high school main office.

*Special Note: To be considered for ANY financial assistance, you must complete the ICHS Financial Assistance Application AND the Diocese of Joliet FACTS Management Grant and Aid Assessment Application.

 

Friday, February 17, 2012

Application deadline for the Kazma Family Foundation Scholarship.  This is a four-year renewable scholarship for students entering a Catholic high school in the Diocese of Joliet. Both the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment form and the Kazma Family Foundation Scholarship application must be completed.  Applications are available through the ICHS Main Office or online.

FACTS Management Grant and Aid Assessment Application due to FACTS by mail or online.   Please note that those who apply online may be processed faster than those who submit by mail.

*Special Note: To be considered for ANY financial assistance, you must complete the ICHS Financial Assistance Application AND the Diocese of Joliet FACTS Management Grant and Aid Assessment Application.

Tentative financial assistance awards* are available at this time to families who have submitted BOTH the ICHS Financial Assistance Application by February 15, 2012, and the Diocese of Joliet FACTS Management Grant and Aid Application  by March 1, 2012.

Thursday, March 15, 2012 - Class of 2016 Registration Night

6:00 - 9:00 pm (by appointment)
Register for classes for the 2012-13 school year.  Sign up for Proficiency Tests, if required.  Registration Information packets, including your registration appointment time, the Curriculum Guide and course recommendations, will be mailed with the student's acceptance letter.  Registration fee: $275 (non-refundable).  $125 of the $275 registration fee is applicable toward tuition for the 2012-13 school year.

 

Monday, April 2, 2012

Schedule your student’s ninth grade physical for after June 1, 2012.  Records for updated immunizations and ninth grade physicals are due August 1, 2011.

 

Month of May 2012

Final financial assistance awards are granted to all qualifying families. All financial assistance awards are contingent upon verification of 2012 FACTS Application and availability of funds.

 

Month of June 2012

The Bishop’s High School Tuition Assistance notification letters are mailed from the Diocese of Joliet.

The Freshman Newsletter is mailed.  This includes information on uniform discounts, summer camps, school supplies,

used book sale, etc.

Bus Transportation Application  and 50% deposit due.   Bus service is based upon enrollment and interest and is subject to cancellation.

 

Wednesday, August 1, 2012

Ninth grade physicals and birth certificates (original and county issued) are due.  Return to the main office of the high school.  Ninth grade physicals must be on file in order for students to participate in a fall sport.

 

Monday, August 6, 2012

Balance of Bus Transportation deposit is due.  Bus service is based upon enrollment and interest and is subject to cancellation.

 

Early-August 2012

Freshman Get Acquainted Day - date and time TBA.  This is a day, prior to the first day of school, where incoming freshmen can meet and get to know their classmates.  Seniors plan ice breaker games and a scavenger hunt.  Lunch is provided.  Attendance is optional but strongly encouraged.
